I won’t go as far as to say that the food was the best thing about my recent visit to London, but it sure was an important one. Since I began travelling frequently the past year, I try not to run to the nearest tourist hotspot or junkfood chain. Okay, fine, I did stop for a few Starbucks, but that’s a completely different story. People need the coffee. I NEED THE COFFEE! Or tea, because for the whole three days of my visit I had no voice, lost it, didn’t know where it went. So yes, coffee and tea it was.

I’m far from an expert when it comes to food. I do make a mean spaghetti, but that’s almost as far as it goes. Thank goodness for my excellent taste buds. I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Alright, here we go.

Here’s a list of some restaurants you should visit when you’re in London.

BREAKFAST

  • The Breakfast Club, Soho

Did the name not specify enough for you? The Breakfast Club is everyone’s favorite place. There are plenty of BreakfastClubs around London, but we visited the one in downtown Soho, just twostreets from our hostel YHA Oxford. The staff were incredibly nice and I start reminicing about the food when I look at the pictures. The place was packed

and when we left there was a line till the end of the street. (It was the only time I ate a full English Brekkie, I swear.) 33 D’Arblay St, Soho

  • Giraffe, Old Spitalfields Market, Shoreditch

While the stallholders are still unloading for the coming day, make your way to Giraffe, a beautiful establishment in The Old Spitalfields Market. Their menu offers a great deal of worldly choices.  Try not to stare at the menu for too long though. Easier is to just let your waitress decide for you. (bagel, bagel, bagel) Spitalfields market, 1 Crispin Place

LUNCH

  • Union Jacks, Covent Garden

Alright, I’ll confess. We saw Jamie Oliver’s name next to Union Jacks and we just could not say no. Union Jacks did not disappoint. Grab an exotic superfood salad with a glass of rose. (Hurray, green grass!) Royal Opera House, 5 Covent Garden Piazza

  • Kahaila, Coffee, Brick Lane, Shoreditch

After our visit to Rough Trade, it was time for coffee number 3872. Kahaila Coffee is a quiet café in Brick Lane, that donate their money to local community projects. Grab a cupcake and a tea and chill in the back. 135 Brick Lane, London

DINNER

  • All Bar One, Oxford St

Located just around the corner on Oxford Street, All Bar One is a stylish establishment that offers great food and (wink, wink) great drinks. Unfortunately we missed brunch, but we had a classy burrito chicken later that day. 108 New Oxford Street

  • Obica, Mozzerella Bar, Soho

Obica is the classy name for the lovely Mozzerella bar in Soho. You can enjoy a late dinner or just eat some snacks. You chose which kind of mozzarella ball you would like with additional bruschetta, vegetables or meat. (If you ever walk in there a tiny bit drunk, don’t worry, they’ll still let you in. But I urge you don’t to.) 11-13 Charlotte St, Fitzrovia
